A Dogs valentine

I made this card for a lady in the NZ cardswap group last month (also 3 of my crafty friends & I decided to come up with a fun way to use our stash of crafty items mainly our stamps & dies that we have purchased but never got around to using so this was my card for that challenge)

so i decided to use this newton’s nook designs stamp called puppy pals, so first i stamped the image with ink on 3 in black onto some neenah #80 lbs solar white cardstock using my stamparatus from stampin’ up & also restamped the image onto some inkadinkado masking paper & fussing cut out. Then i placed the mask over my image & used my distress oxides for the background in dried marigold & iced spruce, then i die cut out a reversed stitched scalloped circle by lawn fawn.

Then i created a background with alcohol ink in watermelon on yupo paper & added some isopropyl alcohol onto the yupo paper to get the ink to move around, then i used a hairdryer over the ink to get a wispy look from the alcohol ink, then i die cut out the heart background with a die from my favourite things called full of heart with my sizzix bigshot machine, then i removed the mask & coloured the dogs image with some copic markers, (i will list the colours i used at the end of this post) then i grabbed out a scrap piece of white cardstock measuring “1 x 4” for the stamped sentiment of happy valentine’s day from lawn fawns conversation add-on, then i used a stampin’ up punch called the triple banner to make the fish tail at the end. Then i put some foam tape (cut to size) on the back of the dogs circle & sentiment banner & got out a pre scored card in neenah solar white #110 lbs, & then i stamped an inside sentiment with a set from clearly besotted called key to my heart in a crisp black ink from altenew called obsidian pigment ink then adhered the dog image & sentiment to the front of the card & added three drops of nuvo crystal drops to the card & then set asisde to dry over night & that makes this card complete.

Copic colours used;

E79, E77, E74 (dog 1)

E18, E17, E15 (dog 2)

R59, R39, R29 (red scarf)

B16, B14 B12 (blue collar)
